Blue Sky Aeromodellers recently hosted Air Scouts and Air Explorers from the 230th Sheffield (Gleadless) Scout Group at their Beeley flying field
Around 20 scouts plus a number of leaders were there on the day which was blessed with great weather and blue skies.
Other club members assisted by ensuring the trainers were prepped in advance for each flight allowing the maximum amount of flying time.
In between the experience flights, club members gave demonstrations of the various types of models that are flown within the club.
Feedback from the scout leader was “We had a great day and all the young people really enjoyed having a go at flying the model aircraft.”
Thanks to all involved on both sides and especially the scouts and their leaders for being such good representatives of the scouting movement.
Blue Sky Aeromodellers is based in the Chesterfield area and boasts 3 flying fields around the town. All aspects of radio controlled flying are catered subject to local site rules.
Training is provided free for all members who are encouraged to take the tests in the British Model Flying Association achievement scheme to ensure safe and responsible flying.
